We Salute & Pay Tribute to a True Hero

Kazimierz (Casimir) Pulaski, born on March 6, 1745, was a Polish nobleman, soldier and military commander who became a hero in the American Revolution. Pulaski was a cavalry officer in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He became involved in the struggle for Polish independence and later fled to France after a failed uprising.

In 1777, he traveled to the American colonies to support the fight for independence against Great Britian. Pulaski's most famous contributions were in battles such as the Battle of Brandywine, where he fought bravely despite being injured. He was eventually mortally wounded during the Siege of Savannah in 1779, where he led a daring but ultimately unsuccessful attack on British forces. His death was a significant loss, but his legacy lives on.

Pulaski earned the title of Brigadier General and was posthumously granted honorary citizenship by the United States.

Please join the Polish Museum of America on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (CST) via live stream, for the annual Pulaski Day Commemoration. The link to the event is available on their website - www.polishmuseumofamerica.org.

A YEAR IN REVIEW

In 2024, the PACCF Board of Directors allocated over $ 200,000 U.S. in aid to organizations in Poland serving the physically and mentally disabled, with an emphasis on those serving children and adolescents. In addition, in response to the severe flooding in Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries, that has ravaged many areas since mid-September, the Board of Directors held an emergency meeting in October and by unanimous consent, a special donation in the amount of $ 100,000 U.S. was made to Caritas Polska, with the stipulation that the funds must be used for flood relief efforts in Poland.

Over $ 300,000 U.S. in total funding was provided and, for this, we are very proud and grateful to our supporters within Polonia and beyond.
