Lublin Association for Disabled Children - Conquerors of Dreams Participate in Nationwide Competition

Dear PACCF Board of Directors:
I want to acknowledge one of the events that we could not have participated in, without the financial help of the PACCF.

I submitted our Winners to a nationwide historical competition committee. The competition consisted of working on a specialized internet platform, working with computer, graphic programs. The kids worked on a multimedia board purchased through funding provided by the PACCF, with a computer desktop and laptop. Without you, it would not have been possible. That's why I was so keen on this state-of-the-art equipment, so that kids with disabilities could participate in activities for healthy people. This is possible thanks to you...thank you again.

Social Welfare Home for Children, Adolescents and Adults with intellectual disabilities, Tarnow:

On behalf of the 80 disabled residents of our Home, I would like to express my sincere thanks for providing us with the financial resources for the installation of a photovoltaic system. Thank you for your sensitive and open hearts, because this investment will allow us to reduce electricity bills and, thus, improve the quality of life of our residents.

The money saved in this way will be spent on diversifying meals, paying for medicines and diapers, covering the costs of fuel for cars that transport patients to tests and specialists and organizing trips.

In our Home, we provide care and a family atmosphere to those who struggle not only with Intellectual disabilities. Most of them have a deformed body and a disturbed psyche, which Involves the need for orthopedic equipment and many tests and visits to specialists.

Thank you for your “imagination of mercy” which our great compatriot Saint John Paul II spoke about. Thanks to the PACCF, we can become the “voice” of those who have no voice in society and fill their hearts with hope that they are not alone with their problems. We remember you in prayer.

Sr. Lidia Lupa Director

Dom Nadziei (House of Hope) in Krakow, Poland 2023

Update 2023

Thanks to the financial support of the PACCF, Dom Nadziei (House of Hope) has purchased a Wellsystem Medical dry hydromassage device type Hydrojet that was delivered and installed in September 2023.

The Wellsystem provides the benefits of water massage without having to undress. Water jets, moving in circular motions, massage the body from head to toe or can be programmed to target specific parts of the body. In this way, muscles are relaxed and blood circulation is improved. The pleasant warmth of the water reaches even the deepest laid tissues. Excellent therapy effects are achieved through the combination of 3 elements: Strength, Heat & Water.

The main properties of membrane dry hydromassage

  • WARMING – prepares for physical exercise and improves blood circulation, accelerating metabolism.

  • REGENERATING – accelerates the return of the body to normal after a lot of physical or mental effort.

  • REHABILITATION – supports the treatment of injuries and relaxes muscles and reduces pain.

Diecezjalna Fundacja Ochrony Zycia in Opole, Poland

This organization, Diocesan Foundation for the Protection of Life in Opole, Poland serves unwed and/or abused women and their young children. During the Officer’s visit, they discussed the need for a playground for the youngsters, as physical activity is important to the growth and development of their young charges. The PACCF officers were shown an unused plot of land on their premises that they feel would be perfect. In January, 2023 a formal request for funding with renderings was submitted and approved by the PACCF Board of Directors. Below is the Project, from (literally) dirt to completion.

Jewish Resistance During the Holocaust – An Unknown Story

We’ve all heard of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, but how many of us know how widespread and prevalent Jewish resistance to the Nazis was?  Instead, many people believe that Jews went to their deaths “like sheep to the slaughter.”  Filmed in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Israel, and the U.S., a new feature documentary Resistance – They Fought Back, will provide a much-needed corrective to this myth of Jewish passivity.  Contrary to what most people believe, Jews waged at least 60 armed rebellions in ghettos;  thousands of Jewish partisans fought in the forests against the Nazis;  and of seven death camp rebellion, six were led by Jews.  One distinguishing characteristic of this film is its emphasis on the importance of non-violent resistance against German oppression.  Today, some 80 years later, as survivors leave us and personal testimony fades, the Holocaust narrative reaching the public remains incomplete, especially where resistance is concerned.  This film will shine a light on these lost chapters of the past, illuminating powerful stories of strength, survival, and rescue along the way.

Filmed in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Israel, and the U.S., Resistance – They Fought Back will provide a much-needed corrective to the long-standing but still prevalent myth of Jewish passivity during the Holocaust, that “Jews went to their deaths as sheep to the slaughter.”  Showing the evolution of Jewish resistance from campaigns of non-violent resistance in the ghettos, to partisans fighting in the forests, to Jewish-led uprisings in death camps, this feature documentary shines a light on lost chapters of the past and illuminates powerful stories of strength, survival, and rescue along the way.

Resistance – They Fought Back showcases the evolution of Jewish resistance during the Holocaust, illuminating powerful but little-known stories of strength, survival and rescue, and putting to rest the myth that “Jews went to their deaths as sheep to the slaughter.” - Paula S.
