Letter From Our Board
Dear Friends and Scholars:
The New Year has come.
In January, we witnessed the inauguration of our new President of the United States, Mr. Joseph R. Biden Jr.
Also in January, we celebrated the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.. We would like to share one of our favorite quotes from the great Civil Rights leader, that ring as true today as when he first spoke them.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy".
We are all living in times of great challenge across the nation and globe. Now, more than ever, our society needs young women and men who are actively seeking ethical and effective solutions to the obstacles we face. Learning happens in the spaces in which new ideas confront previously limited and comfortable ways of viewing the world. In these unusual times, patience and perseverance are the keys to success. Work hard, be patient and achieve your goals.

Knowledge in Action
Remember, learning simply to learn does not automatically mean that we have become any wiser. Development happens when our knowledge influences the way we live our lives and the positive effect we bring to the lives of others.
The main conduit that holds intelligent people back, is their reluctance to act, based on their current knowledge. In other words, they are forever in search of new information, skills and experience before they can take a stand and make their position clear.
It is nice to have more knowledge, but it is worthless unless we share it. Building on your previous knowledge by adding to it on an ongoing basis, can be a slow process of "baby steps" . But, as with the development of a child into a productive adult, the "investment" of those "baby steps" is well worth the time and end result.
Remember - Knowledge without action is worth nothing!
Successful are those who never give up to difficult situations and problems. You have a lot of potential to make the impossible possible.
